Notification emails are sent for various reasons and can mostly be disabled. We may need to contact you in the event of a problem with your profile; (you may have removed your naked pics, you may have uploaded something that's not permitted, we may need to warn you someone who messaged you is a scammer that we've removed, etc.). These messages cannot be disabled.
To disable routine notifications, go to this page and select the 'Manage email preferences' option. On a mobile device you will need to scroll down. On a desktop/laptop it's in the first column (you may still need to scroll down a little depending on your screen resolution). When you click that button you will get a pop-up showing the routine notifications. You can enable them or disable them as desired.
